Starting school is an important step in a young child's life and 'Is my child ready for school?' is a question asked by many parents.
Your child can start Kindergarten at the beginning of the school year if they turn five on or before 31 July in that year. By law, all children must be enrolled in school by their sixth birthday.
When to enrol
Kindergarten enrolment begins around March the year before your child will start Kindergarten. The school year starts in late January after the summer vacation period. In most instances our school will be unable to accept enrolment applications for students living outside our catchment area. As a matter of process any enrolment application for an out of area student will be referred to the student's local designated Public School. A request for an out of area application may be submitted for consideration by the school's enrolment panel.

Additionally, please complete the the General Consent Form (PDF 95 KB) and return to the school office.
After you have enrolled your child you will be notified later in the year about our Kindergarten Orientation mornings.
The following support documents must be submitted with your application:
- your child's birth certificate or passport;
- proof of your child's address. See Residential Address Check;
- up to date immunisation history statement based on the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR);
- medical condition plans (if applicable);
- family law or other relevant court orders (if applicable).
If your child is not a permanent resident you will also need to provide:
- passport or travel documents
- current visa and previous visas (if applicable).
