A feature of the public education system in NSW is the opportunity to provide time in class for education in ethics, faith and morality from a religious or non-religious perspective at the choice of the parent/carer.
A parent/carer may at any time notify the school in writing that they wish to change their decision. Students will continue the same arrangement as the previous year, unless a parent/carer has requested a change in writing. All classes are supervised by Harbord Public School teachers.
At our school parents/carers are able to choose one of the following classes for the children:
- Combined Christian SRE using a curriculum cross-authorised by Anglican, Baptist, Presbyterian, Australian Christian Churches, Churches of Christ and the Uniting Church. CEP curriculum overview
- Catholic Scripture
- Ethics classes
Students whose parents elect not to send them to any of these classes attend non-Scripture.
