Canteen at our school

Our canteen is a non-profit volunteer service to the school community managed by Jan Baldwin. It is staffed by a combination of paid staff and volunteer parents and all help is greatly appreciated. Food served is in accordance with the Dept of Education Healthy Food Strategy. All meals are cooked fresh on the premises using fresh ingredients. The canteen is NUT free and provides vegetarian and gluten-free options.

How to place a canteen order

Current Canteen Menu

How your child receive their order

Close to the break orders are placed in your child's class canteen tub. Two students from each class collect their class tub from the canteen for distribution back in the class under their teacher's supervision. Kindergarten class tubs are delivered to the classroom.

Canteen rules

  • Respect: Wait patiently for your turn, always use good manners
  • Responsibility: Line up in the correct spot, walk to and from the canteen safely, only buy for yourself
  • Personal best: Make healthy choices, know what you want to buy and have your money ready, move away from the canteen area as soon as you have been served.

For children who forget their lunch

Children who forget their lunch may get an emergency lunch  from the canteen.  They need to be authorised by your child's teacher. Your child will be given the choice of a vegemite, ham or cheese sandwich. A note will be sent home with your child to notify you and advise of payment due. Parents are invoiced $3.50 for this service.  Payment options are cash to the canteen or IOU payment on flexischools.

Late order

There is a late order modified menu service available from 8.50am to 12 midday.

Volunteers

Most volunteers volunteer for one day per month (eg. 3rd Tuesday of each month).  If you are able to assist please contact the canteen on 0477 948 994.

We're one of the first schools in NSW to be accredited a Healthy School Canteen!

Canteen staff serving at our school canteen

Our canteen followed the ‘10 Steps to a Healthy Canteen’ online program which helps schools introduce the Food and Drink Criteria into their school canteen. This includes classifying packaged foods and measuring portion sizes of fresh foods as well as ways to promote the healthy food options available to students.

The final step involved an independent canteen menu check which confirms the canteen meets the Food and Drink Criteria and has successfully become a Healthy School Canteen.
